Expert Surgical Care at Asian Heart Institute
Surgery may feel overwhelming, but with Asian Heart Institute, we do not merely perform professionally—we provide warm care, individualized care, and total support through to the end. Our General Surgery department offers total solutions for many abdominal, endocrine, oncological, and minimal invasive surgeries, all wrapped in precision and expertise.
What Is General Surgery?
General Surgery is the branch of medicine that involves surgery of abdominal organs, endocrine glands, soft tissue, hernia, and vascular disease. Our experienced surgeons have expertise in both open surgery and minimally invasive surgery, providing efficient, less discomforting, and quicker-recovering solutions.
At Asian Heart Institute, we provide more than surgery: we provide a longer, patient-centered experience that integrates diagnostics, minimally invasive treatments, and follow-up in a single smooth care pathway.
Conditions We Treat
Our board-certified general surgeons proficiently treat a wide array of conditions, adhering to international best practice in surgery:
Gallbladder Disease & Gallstones
Laparoscopic cholecystectomy to have the gallbladder removed with minimal downtime.
Appendicitis
Keyhole appendicectomy allows early discharge and early return to daily life.
Hernias (Inguinal, Umbilical, Incisional)
Tension-free mesh repair and laparoscopic hernioplasty reduce recurrence rates.
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) & Hiatal Hernia
Laparoscopic fundoplication reverses pathologic anatomy and cures symptoms of reflux, for durable relief.
Bowel Obstruction & Diverticular Disease
Minimally invasive resections and adhesiolysis reduce trauma and increase quick recovery, with best practices from leading institutions.
Colon, Stomach & Esophageal Cancer
Oncologic resections with lymph node assessment, maximized by ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) protocols.
Pancreatic & Liver Surgery
Advanced resections and drainable minimally invasive surgery make it possible to manage tumor or inflammatory disease effectively.
Thyroid & Parathyroid Disorders
Open or video-assisted nodule and gland removal is ensured with precise results and superior cosmetic outcomes.
Breast & Skin Lesions
Lumpectomies, mastectomies, and excisions done employing the use of sentinel lymph node staging and scar-reducing techniques as per aesthetic standards.
General Surgery Minimally Invasive & Endoscopic Surgery
Where possible, we opt for laparoscopic, thoracoscopic, or robotic-assisted approaches. These approaches reduce pain, hospitalization, and recovery time. World surgical centers like Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic have persistently shown improved outcomes with minimally invasive surgery: reduced blood loss, fewer complications, and faster return to normal living.

Preparation for General Surgery
Preparation reduces anxiety and yields best results:
- Bring previous scans or reports in to discuss with the surgeon
- Discuss symptoms such as pain, weight loss, or unusual lumps
- Discuss medications, allergies, or chronic illnesses
